Jewish community participates in the Montreal Gay Pride Parade

Montreal gay pride

For the second year in a row, Quebec Jewish Congress (QJC) is working with GAAVA, a non-profit organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Jews, to encourage Jewish community participation in the Montreal Gay Pride Parade  on Sunday August 15, beginning at 1:00 pm.  The parade runs through the heart of downtown, along Rene-Levesque Boulevard, from Guy to Sanguinet.

QJC leadership will be on hand to monitor and react if necessary to potential conflicts with the group “Queers against Israeli apartheid,” whose recent efforts to hijack the Toronto Gay Pride Parade were highly publicized.

Everyone is welcome to come out and support our float and our messaging. Israel is the only country in the Middle East where  gays are accepted and are able to live a normal life free of persecution.  Thousands of Montrealers and tourists from around the world attend the Pride Parade every year.

To reserve your spot on the GAAVA led float or to be part of the marching contingent,  e-mail emartuccelli@cjq-qjc.com or call Enza at (514)345-6411 ext: 3164.

We welcome your feedback and invite your comments.
